MASSAGE FOR PAIN RELIEF. IT’S MY SPECIALTY.
Looking for relief from chronic pain? Peaceful Strength Massage in Bedford is your first and last stop. I specialize in deep tissue pain relief that does not hurt. This is no spa service. There are no hot stones, scrubs, mud baths, saunas or showers.
If you are looking for a great massage that will help with your aches, pains, and stresses I can provide those services. Peaceful Strength Massage is all about doing what is best for the client to bring about pain relief. There is no one technique that is the sole solution just like there may not be just one cause of pain. Several techniques are combined to create a unique massage that focuses on the needs of each individual.
I do not offer a one size fits all massage. You pay for my service according to time. Each massage, each appointment is for the individual and their needs. If you have already had, know the benefits of, and are looking for deep tissue massage therapy, then you can save time and go straight to our scheduling page to set up an appointment.
WHAT IS A DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE AT PEACEFUL STRENGTH?
A deep tissue massage can encompass one or several massage techniques from Myofascial Mobilization/release, Trigger Point Therapy, Thai massage, Sports massage and Mana Lomi to create the deep tissue massage.
A sustained gentle pressure is used to communicate with the nervous system to help the tissue in the area to relax and let go of tension and painful sensations. The work does not force the body but waits for the tissue to release ultimately restoring the client back to proper posture and alignment. The treatment is performed directly on the skin with very little lotion.
It is especially helpful for chronically tense areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. The movement is slower at times and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain. A firm pressure massage technique helps loosen muscle tissues. This massage is both corrective and therapeutic.
SHOULD A DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE HURT?
If I had a nickel for every time I hear “oh you can hurt me I was told it will make me better” I would be rich. A deep tissue massage can have moments of “hurts so good” but it should NEVER cause pain. I have had some painful massages and no, I did not feel better later and no, I never went back.
If you find yourself holding your breath and squirming trying to get away that is too much pressure. If you feel that discomfort and pain let the therapists know so they can back off. Deep tissue work can be mildly uncomfortable but within a few moments that feeling will become much less.
A deep tissue massage done properly will warm up the tissue allowing the therapist to get “deeper” while causing no harm or pain. There are times when a tissue is “grumpy” and irritated that it will be tenderer to touch. With time and treatment, the tissue will feel better and less sensitive to the same pressure and touch.
The number one complaint I hear about massage therapists in the Bedford/Manchester area is that they don’t know when to reduce the pressure and end up going TOO DEEP.
The second most common is that therapists are putting pressure directly on bones, and even the spine! Yikes!
At Peaceful Strength Massage, you don’t need to worry about any of that. Our REVIEWS speak for themselves.
